Asymmetrical gold drop earrings with South Sea keshi pearls nestled in burgundy succulent flower against white ceramic bird, highlighting the contrast between white and golden pearls

CX0038 - Asymmetrical South Sea Keshi Pearl Earrings Gold White

£285.00 GBP

Seraphine

Delicate and otherworldly, Seraphine is a quiet homage to light, grace, and individuality.

These earrings feature two South Sea Keshi pearls - each one utterly unique in form and hue. One is a molten gold droplet, the other a luminous white arc with the suggestion of a wing. Together, they create a pairing that is asymmetrical, sculptural, and full of quiet power.

Suspended from fine sterling silver chains and minimalist tube-accented posts, the earrings sway with ethereal movement. Their design allows two-way styling: reverse them, mix them, or wear each alone. Versatility meets poetry in this one-of-a-kind pair.

Keshi pearls, formed entirely of nacre, are known for their irregular shapes and high lustre - pure, expressive, and never repeated. In Seraphine, they take on a celestial presence - not loud or showy, but steady and sure. Jewellery that whispers with intention.

A meaningful gift, a statement of individuality, or simply a favourite you reach for every time you want something that feels like you.

✧ Name Inspiration ✧
Seraphine is inspired by the seraphim - celestial beings often associated with light, grace, and divine presence. But this name goes beyond spiritual reference. It evokes softness, poise, and quiet strength - the kind found in natural forms and balanced contrasts. The pairing of gold and white South Sea Keshi pearls reflects this duality: fire and air, warmth and light, grounded earth and uplifted spirit.

The pearls themselves are sculptural - one curling like a wing in motion, the other glowing with a golden flame - and the asymmetrical design speaks to individuality and intuition. Seraphine is a name that suggests not only beauty but inner radiance - jewellery with a soul, not just a surface.

Something about pearls

A little bit more about Tahitian pearl, South Sea pearl, and Keshi from both bivalves (according to GIA)

Although commonly known as Tahitian Black Pearl, its body colour varies from silver to black to green to purple, with multiple coloured overtone which not seen in other pearls from the same oyster family. From Pinctada margaritifera (black-lipped pearl oyster), Tahitian pearls are cultivated primarily around the islands of French Polynesia (the most familiar of which is Tahiti), these saltwater cultured pearls usually range from white to black. Other colours include dark metallic greens and purples (sometimes called aubergine). The usual size is about 8 mm to 17 mm, although larger pearls exist in limited quantities. (GIA: These overtones and/or secondary hues may be green, pink, purple, or a combination of colours leading to such exotic and descriptive terms as “Peacock,” “Aubergine,” or “Pistachio.” On rare occasions, white, brown, and yellow primary bodycolours with a range of overtones may also be found.)

South Sea pearls have much softer but equally shiny body colours of white, cream, silver, or golden. Produced by Pinctada maxima mollusk, commonly referred to as the “South Sea pearl oyster,” is the largest of the Pinctada genus. It has 2 common forms: Silver-lipped and gold-lipped, producing the white body-coloured pearls and golden body-coloured pearls.

There are bead-cultured pearl and non-bead-cultured pearl, also known in the trade as Keshi (Japanese for “poppyseed”) Pearls from both of the Pinctada genus, formed without being intentionally nucleated in mollusks while undergoing pearl cultivation, resulting an accidental non-bead-cultured pearl. Although a by-product, Keshi is a wonder of nature in its own right, and is valuable and in demand.
