Te Pito
A pair of statement Tahitian pearl studs inspired by Polynesian mythology. Featuring near-perfect 10+mm bronze-black pearls with a green overtone, nestled in molten 18ct gold plate over sterling silver. These ocean-born orbs reflect like mirrors, carrying the quiet power of deep waters and ancient stories. A timeless gift for yourself or someone unforgettable.
✧ Inspiration ✧
In Rapa Nui lore, Te Pito o te Henua is the “navel of the world” - a sacred stone said to pulse with the mana of the earth and the energy of creation itself. These earrings draw from that legend, offering a glimpse of volcanic origin and celestial depth in every perfect sphere.
Two nearly flawless, 10.3mm Tahitian pearls - handpicked for their rare symmetry, bronze-black hue, and soft green overtone - rest like ancient orbs upon molten waves of 18ct gold plating. The settings, sculpted in sterling silver 925, mimic liquid metal cooled by the sea -organic, undulating, quietly powerful.
The pearls are so luminous, you can see your reflection in them. Their colour? Think twilight on black sand, with a flicker of northern lights. They do not whisper luxury; they sing it.
Whether you wear them to channel the ocean’s strength or as an heirloom reminder of quiet inner brilliance, these are earrings made for myth-makers.

Something about pearls
A little bit more about Tahitian pearl, South Sea pearl, and Keshi from both bivalves (according to GIA)
Although commonly known as Tahitian Black Pearl, its body colour varies from silver to black to green to purple, with multiple coloured overtone which not seen in other pearls from the same oyster family. From Pinctada margaritifera (black-lipped pearl oyster), Tahitian pearls are cultivated primarily around the islands of French Polynesia (the most familiar of which is Tahiti), these saltwater cultured pearls usually range from white to black. Other colours include dark metallic greens and purples (sometimes called aubergine). The usual size is about 8 mm to 17 mm, although larger pearls exist in limited quantities. (GIA: These overtones and/or secondary hues may be green, pink, purple, or a combination of colours leading to such exotic and descriptive terms as “Peacock,” “Aubergine,” or “Pistachio.” On rare occasions, white, brown, and yellow primary bodycolours with a range of overtones may also be found.)
South Sea pearls have much softer but equally shiny body colours of white, cream, silver, or golden. Produced by Pinctada maxima mollusk, commonly referred to as the “South Sea pearl oyster,” is the largest of the Pinctada genus. It has 2 common forms: Silver-lipped and gold-lipped, producing the white body-coloured pearls and golden body-coloured pearls.
There are bead-cultured pearl and non-bead-cultured pearl, also known in the trade as Keshi (Japanese for “poppyseed”) Pearls from both of the Pinctada genus, formed without being intentionally nucleated in mollusks while undergoing pearl cultivation, resulting an accidental non-bead-cultured pearl. Although a by-product, Keshi is a wonder of nature in its own right, and is valuable and in demand.
